Sohail Ansari (President) Being the founding member and two term president of the WSI, Sohail Ansari has remained committed to the mission of the World Sindhi Institute from last 13 years. During his tenure with the institution he has been instrumental in many initiatives such as “Sindh Watch— Quarterly,” Sindhi-Sham gatherings in Washington-DC, Production of Sindhi Sufi Music CDs under the banner of the World Sindhi Institute. Sohail was Born in Hyderabad, Sindh in 1965 and moved to Karachi in 1979. Karachi is where he got his Bachelor degree in Engineering and moved to USA in 1991. He completed his Master in Engineering Management from Milwaukee School of Engineering in 1999. He is currently the resident of Wisconsin, USA where he has been working as Telecommunications professional for last 10 plus years. |

Humaira Rahman (General Secretary) General Secretary of the World Sindhi Institute. A former practicing architect and lecturer, she is an environmental and human rights activist. Currently, she resides in Canada. |

Fauzia Deeba (Treasurer) Dr. Fauzia Deeba is a Physician, Educator, Human Rights Activist and Women Development Consultant. She worked professionally for more than a decade as Physician and teacher in Bolan Medical College, followed by another decade as Development Practitioner focusing on Gender and Environment. She contributed as Consultant in policy formulation and implementation of projects addressing multi-dimensional issues that cause ill-health in the most under-developed province, Balochistan, on the Pak-Afghan border. Her endeavors established public participation through government-people partnership in the bilateral projects of Government of Balochistan with Royal Netherland Embassy (RNE), World Health Organization (WHO), IUCN-The World Conservation Union, Oxfam and United Nations Development Program (UNDP). She did ‘Masters in International Public Policy’ from SAIS-John Hopkins University in Washington, DC, U.S.A. on Ford Foundation Fellowship. She has presented and published numerous papers and articles of community-based research work on gender, poverty, environment, information management and technical education in Balochistan. Being associated with WSI since 2006, she has designed, administered and participated in numerous advocacy campaigns in Washington, DC for human rights in Sindh and Balochistan. |

Ramesh Tharwani Ramesh Tharwani, native to a small town of Ghotki-Sindh, did his initial schooling in Ghotki and then went to Karachi as an engineering student at NED University of Karachi. While being a brilliant student, he was very active in student community and become the one term president of the Young Sindhi Engineering Association at NED. He completed his Bachelors in Civil Engineering from NED and moved to New Jersey, United States of America (USA) in 1992 and completed his MS in Civil and Environmental Engineering from prestigious institution of Rutgers University in the year 1996. Since then Ramesh has worked with various consulting companies and real estate developers in New Jersey area. Currently, Ramesh and his family live in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Ramesh works on project of building a new city, the King Abdullah Economic City. Ramesh was one of the founding members of the World Sindhi Institute, and prior to being part of the WSI, he has remained an active member of various Sindhi Diaspora groups. |
