The undersigned Sindhi Diaspora Organizations  appeal to the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan and as well the Chief Minister , Governor  and Inspector General Sindh Police to immediately halt the police operation in the densely populated town of  Lyari a community of over 1.2 million people in western Karachi the capital of Sindh.

Whilst the temperature soars to 42 degrees centigrade , children, youth ,  women and men mostly belonging to ordinary labouring Baloch, Sindhi and Kuchhi communities are suffering from lack  of water, food , electricity and  medicines;  as many as 20 people have already been  killed within last 4 days, many of them innocent passersby caught in the cross fire . Young adolescent men  , children and even the sick and elderly and as well pregnant women  are not spared and fear for their lives. All residents are highly traumatized, and trying their best to escape to safer neighbourhoods,  as police and resident armed gangs allied to various political parties conduct a turf war and battle it out with hand grenades, kalashnikovs and rockets.

The undersigned SDOs appeal to the Pakistan Peoples Party , PML-N, and the MQM and all other parties with vested interests , to stop treating Lyari as their fiefdom  and instead allow for peaceful democratic exchange and dialogue with area residents and respected leaders of the communities. The undersigned SDO's believe that it is only through peaceful dialogue with local leaders who enjoy the trust and confidence of ordinary residents that peace and harmony can be achieved and lives and livelihoods can be restored.
