17th April 2012 Attach on Progressive Sindhi Rally Condemned by Bangladeshi Left
20 April, 2012 Dhaka. Bangladesh Solidarity Statement
We, on behalf of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Bangladesh expressing serious concern about ongoing Taliban offensive against Pakistan’s peace and stability. The CPB strongly condemns violent attack on 17th April, 2012 in Hyderabad Sindh on a peaceful rally organized by the leaders and activists of Sindh Progressive Committee by a gang of “Sunni Tehreek” workers at the presence of government’s law enforcing agencies. It was undoubtedly an attempt to destabilize Pakistan and to create tension in that country as designed by US imperialism. This attack was also a part of design to drift Pakistan towards a Taliban tyrannical, violent state. Therefore, it is evident that these religious extremists are trying to bring back the period of lawlessness in Pakistan. The CPB considers that the Communist Party of Pakistan along with progressive committee of left progressive political parties (SPC-Sindh Progressive Committee) are truly struggling against the prevailing lawlessness ,sky rocketing inflation, rising self immolations ,suicidal attacks and target killings of the progressive political activists. The SPC is also fighting against heinous massacres on the Ahmadi and Shai muslim communities ,rising religious bigotry ,extremism, talibanization ,demonization of indigenous cultural values and languages and capitulation of the state’s three most powerful institutions i.e. ,civil ,judiciary and military establishment ,into the hands of Jehadist mafia . The Communist Party of Pakistan is fighting for the protection of the rights of religious minorities, progressive intellectuals and political workers.
The Communist Party of Bangladesh and the people of Bangladesh express wholehearted support and solidarity to the struggle led by the Communist Party of Pakistan and to the people of Pakistan in their struggle to protect their fatherland from grave danger of talibanization and Imperialism.
With fraternal greetings-
(Mujahidul Islam Selim) General Secretary |

Document - Pakistan: Further information: Political activist found dead in Pakistan: Muzaffar Bhutto
URGENT ACTION POLITICAL ACTIVIST FOUND DEAD IN PAKISTAN Muzaffar Bhutto, a senior member of a Sindhi nationalist political party in Pakistan, was found dead on 22 May after being allegedly abducted by plain-clothed intelligence agents and police on 25 February 2011. Amnesty International calls for the killing to be investigated and the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
Muzaffar Bhutto was the General-Secretary of Jeay Sindh Muttaheda Mahaz (JSMM), an ethnic Sindhi nationalist party. He was found dead on 22 May in Bukhari village, near Hyderabad city in Sindh province. On 25 February 2011, he was allegedly abducted by plain-clothed intelligence agents and police in Hyderabad city, Sindh province. Witnesses said around 20 men in plain clothes came out of unmarked cars and detained Muzaffar Bhutto at gunpoint. He was not seen again until his dead body was recovered. His body was reportedly found stuffed in a gunny bag, bearing torture marks with two bullet wounds, one to the head and one to his chest. The manner of Muzaffar Bhutto’s abduction, and the dumping and condition of his body fits a consistent and repeated pattern of enforced disappearances and extrajudicial executions of political activists and suspected insurgents by Pakistan’s security forces including its intelligence agencies. Since his abduction last year, Muzaffar Bhutto’s family members had been actively campaigning for his release, despite anonymous calls demanding that they stop publicising his case, and frequent searches of their house by unknown individuals believed to be working for Pakistan’s intelligence agencies or police. Please write immediately in English or Urdu or your own language: Express concern at the abduction and killing of Muzaffa Bhotto allegedly involving state agents. Urge federal and Sindh authorities to ensure that a prompt, thorough and impartial investigation is conducted, the findings are made public, and that those responsible, including at the highest levels of command, are promptly brought to justice in fair trial without recourse to death penalty; Urge that the family of Muzaffar Bhutto is provided full reparation, and that any attempts to stop the family pursuing justice,,are investigated and the perpetrators held accountable.
